txlandlord | Posted in General Discussion on October 26, 2005 09:44am

I had posted our website, only to find from your reports that it had been taken down during a domain name transer. (Sidebar: www.godaddy.com has good service and prices)

The website www.brotherscustomworks.com is once again functional. The site needs updating with new pictures (my wife and I are now much better looking…really) and info. We are currently working on a new picture gallery and some other improvements.

Comments, suggestions, ideas (negative or positive) will be appreciatiated.

I couldn't display your site; the address should read http://www.brotherscustomworks.com/.

I've been using GoDaddy for a few years, and it's a good one.

      Gary,

I do not know why the simple http://www.brotherscustomworks.com does not work. I am sure smart breaktime guys will follow your lead.

I checked out your site, nice work. I hope to be able to return to a passion I had for cabinets and furniture when I ready to stop running around building homes.

When I vistit my cabinet door vendors shop, I am tempted to do someting immediately....but homebuilding is good right now.

Most all of our cabinets are built onsite by our cabinet / trim man. I am fortunate to know enough to participate in the design process.

tx the link you posted didn't work becuase you spelled the URL wrong! You left out the "s" in custom. A simple mistake. A few years back when I spun off my business consulting practice as it's own operation and first went live with my Paradigm-360.com web site I sent out the URL to all my family members, employees, and a bunch of my contractor friends to preview it for comments and criticisms and it was three days before anyone even noticed that Paradigm was spelled wrong in the header graphic! Every single page on the site had my own company name spelled wrong! One of those friends who didn't spot the error too was my sister-in-law who one of the designers for the Stanley Tools websites.

Thanks Jerrald....I am currently building a nice home for a felow named Jerrill.

How is the weather in NY? I saw that there was some snow in the NE already.

How did you guys get the logos in your post at the bottom?

"Thanks Jerrald....I am currently building a nice home for a felow named Jerrill."

What the heck is wrong with that guy? Have you corrected him on the spelling yet?

How is the weather in NY? I saw that there was some snow in the NE already.

The weather here been pretty grey and wet lately but we're primarily interior architectural woodworking concentrators anyway.

How did you guys get the logos in your post at the bottom?

The logo graphic itself resides on my wbsite server (http://paradigm-360.com/taunton/Media/signature.gif) but you cold put it anywhere even here. You then just have to call it up by writting and putting the HTML code in the signature field that is part of your Breaktime site preferences. My HTML signature code:

            <hr width="95%" align="left">

            <

            img name="SignatureTaunton" src="http://paradigm-360.com/taunton/Media/signature.gif&#034; border="0" alt="ParadigmProjects.com">

And make sure you check off that your signature "Contains HTML".

Yours is a good looking site. Mine needs some serious help. My son built our web site a couple years ago (taking off from my simple, Front Page original), but I haven't had the time to either update it or add text. Really, I haven't the time to learn the program to fix it.Gary

          Thanks for the website comment.

We are no where near Marble Falls. Hungerford is about 35 miles southwest of Houston....down Highway 59 (the same Highway 59 mentioned in ZZ Topp songs).

Funny, when you enter Texas on Interstate 10 / east side, there is sign that says somethng like Beaumont 15 miles, El Paso 830 miles. If you averaged 60 miles an hour across Texas on Interstate 10 you could drive for 14 hours and still be in Texas.  Brownsville to Amarillo is something like 960 miles. But, when I went to Alaska (intercostal crusie) one of the tour guides told me if you divided Alaska into two states, Texas would be the third largest state.  The parts I saw of Alaska along the intercostl are overwhelmingly beautiful....like a picture come to life.

I brought gifts back for my employees....not typical Alaskan tourist T shirts, but hats displaying "Ketchican Lumber Company". I took pictures of some of the residental architecture, and a commercial strip center business sign in Ketchican.  The sign is great "Pancho's Mexican Restaurant / The Best Pizza in Town".

Pancho's Mexican Restaurant, in Alaska, where they serve the best pizza in town?

Thank you for the geography lesson, I travel too seldom.

The clincher would be if Pancho were Irish.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

Yea, well I am a member of Splash forum. Spalsh is a forum for Softplan users. (Softpan is a very good residential CAD program). The forum is exclusive to SP users, full of edjucated architects, engineers  and building designers.

In my observances, participating in Splash is like participatiing in a conversation you would find in a coffe shop on or near the Berkley Campus / California. Breaktime is sometimes like participating in conversation you might hear in Willie's Bar and Poolhall in French Lick, Mississippi. French Lick is a real town. The contrast provides balance in my life, I enjoy the best of both worlds. I mean the comments about Breaktime in the best way....no critism intended.

I am a custom homebuilder who likes to get down and dirty with the framers or other subs. My foundation crew, all hispanics, love me. I speak functional spanish with them and always provide a 20 pack of longnecks when they are finished (if they clean-up the site real good).

Getting my building industry basic training as a frame carpenter, and doing most of my earlier home building with an inhouse crew of 20, doing all phases except mechanical work has helped in these and all of my business relationships.

The Bible helps, it tells me not to forget to entertain strangers, becaues you may be entertaining angels and not know it. It also tells me that sometimes you find a prince in paupers clothes, or visa versa. Just like dogs, most people love to be loved.

NOTE: My education came from blood, sweat, tears and the Univesity of Hard knocks. I also went to Letsget High and Hay U.  I have a learned typing attending in-home classes as offered from the Hunt and peck School of Typing. I wanted to be an architect (too much math), but majored in "ART"..... (Read, pothead and figured ART would be easy). Lost interest when we started studying the Bizanteen (ken nut spale vary gud / uneducated ex-framer) Period. I wanted an edjucation from Picasso, Andy Warhol and Peter Max (old hippies know who is is...see Yellow Submarine type art work).

for the tagline, go to My Forums (button up on the left) and click on ..................crap, I forget.  Preferences or something like that.  It's in there.  Called Signature Line I think.  It'll appear in all your posts w/o having to type it everytime.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.
