Does anyone know anything about Werzalit siding? We are building a new house and I just received a bill from our contractor for Werzalit. We had Hardie Cedarmill in our original bid and was wondering why the switch. Any info would be helpful. The Werzalit web site if very bare bones and I couldn’t find much info.
Thanks

Can't say if you'll receive any needed info as I see that product has not ever been mentioned here after using the search function thru the archives of Breaktime.
Seems to be a rather new product. Pretty unique to see a foam gasket system on what looks to be a composite wood siding.

Have you managed to find more info anywhere?

No, but my builder swears by it and thinks it's a far superior product to the hardiplank. Apparently it is absolutely impervious to weather, and it has a gasket that fits between the planks to keep out any possible infiltration of moisture. The rep actually gave him a jar of water that has hardiplank and Werzalit in it and is several years old, as an example of the difference, decent sales technique. Anyhow, he did give me a brochure. Seems to be fine.
Thanks
Well, keep us posted on what you find.
