I just finished six 16″ post borings and the rain came down. We tryed covering the area but the water still got to the 48″ deep holes. What is left is lost. The holes washed out and the forms are shot.
We pumped the water out of what was remaining of the bores and the clay soil is all mud. Any suggestions short of wait a week to dry. Any way to protect cardboard forms from water until the concrete sets?

I've never been directly affected by conditions such as yours.
But, did you use sonotube? Which kind, the commercial is alleged to be better than generic or even their rain guard style. Whether it could sit in water like your situation I don't know.
Here we have clay that can act as it's own form. Drill a 16 hole, fill it with water and cover...........it'll be full for near ever. No perc whatsoever.
The sonotube are the generic. Just wax covered cardboard. Hate to think what a commercial one would cost since these were $20.00 a piece.
I'll see if I can find the Rain Gaurd one. Seems they should make a plastic one that is sealed at the base.
