Hi,
We are in the process of building a new house and I am trying to figure out all my options for covering the exposed portion (walk out on one side+ approxamatly three feet above grade three sides)of the styrofoam forms. I am leaning towards cultured stone to give it the deep woods cabin look (northern MN)but DANG!!! at $7.00 a S/F that gets pricey. What else is there and where can I see pictues?
Thanks,
Jason

Jason, I hate to post such a vague message. About year and a half ago I was introduced to a product that was just being released. It looked exactly like cultured stone but was a 4x8 sheet with irregular ends so sheets would inter lock creating a random look along the entire length. A friend of a friend was going to hook me up with some irregular first runs for a similar project but they had already been promised to somebody else.
The samples I saw were very impressive. Sorry I don't remember the manufacture or product name. This product will work great with ICF's especially without a brick ledge, in fact that's why my friend/acquaintance was getting info. I should have hung on to the brochure he gave me. Sorry I don't have more info for you.

*How about stucco?Dave
*JasonYou can attach furring to the ICFs on most systems I've seen (they have plastic plates on the outside of the ICFS). You can then attach wood siding to the furring.Terry
*I would vote stucco also.
*These days stucco can be printed to duplicate the appearance of nearly anything. Check out STO, the German manufacturer or Polycrete (I'm not completely sure of that name) for their product line and some indication of their capabilities. A good looking stucco job will cost you a third to a half of what your fake stone will.
*I used a brick ledge on my home. On the ledge the contractor layed a concrete block product that looked kinda like stone. The cap was 2 x 8, pitched for drainage, and wrapped in copper flashing. So, the foundation appears to stick out past the walls about 8". It looks good, but I can't say it's inexpensive. The basment waterproofing membrane continued up past the brick ledge all the way up to the wood framing, where the house wrap overlapped it.
