I just finished sealing off a house in Northeast Ohio and had waterproofed the basement walls with a Rubber Wall membrane. The basement leaks unacceptably.
I put 57 gravel from the footer to about a foot below grade and had an insulation board put over the Rubber Wall, so I think the hydrostatic pressure is building up when water gets in between the insulation board and the basement wall.
Now the walls have to be re-excavated and I don’t know what I can do to re-waterproof it once I rip down all the insulation board because I don’t think normal tar will bond to this rubber membrane.
Any ideas or suggestions???

Kyle,
I've heard that Rub-R-Wall is in big trouble, lots of law suits etc. Itake it they're not backing you up.
Where in NE Ohio are you? there may be someone I can refer you to.
Let me know here or e-mail me, I'll see what I can do.
John
*What sort of drainage provisions do you have?
*I'm actually just south of Cleveland, by Akron. Any help would be appreciated.
*The soil is very sandy and gravelly, and there is never a puddle out there, even after the heaviest rains. I did put perforated 4" PVC all around the footer, like code says to, but I doubt it even does anything with the soil here.
*Kyle, I'm from Wadsworth, e-mail me! I work all over the Akron area, I'm lucky I never used Rubb-R-wall on one of my jobs. E-mail me(just click on JRS, my e-mail is there)John
*Kyle, Is this a poured wall, ICF or CMU? You said you installed a french drain. Is this drain connected to a sump pit? Do you have good drainage away from the house? Does the house have rain gutters? If you have a digital camera post a picture. We can try to help. By the way I bought a 55 gal. drum of Rubberwall to use on my own home. It has an ICF basement. I tested it on the foam and did not like the reaction. I opted not to use it. We still have it sitting in our warehouse. Anybody want it? Just pay the freight.
*Isn't Akron supposed to be "Rubber City"?
