I just got a pop up from this site asking me to take a survey to wil a $500 gift card. At the end it tried to install some kind of trojan on my computer that was stopped by my security software.
WTF?

Haven't seen that (though I ignore popups that manage to make it through AdBlock). But you probably should repost your message in Forum Suggestions.
Looking into it
Hi gfretwell,
I just sent a note to our tech folks about your concern. I'm not sure if that type of pop-up could have originated from an ad that was hosted on our site, but I'm pretty sure it couldn't have come from the site itself. I'll report back if our developers find anything suspicious.
Thanks,

It's not unheard of for the ad sites themselves to have been compromised by the bad guys, such that they are passing on viruses even when that's far from the advertiser's intent.
I just got it again
This is the popup

When you finish the 3 questions it wants your name address etc then tris to download and install some software.
Google "Consumer Survey
Google "Consumer Survey Group" (with the quotes). You already have malware on your box.
In particular, look for "Yontoo". Do the remove software thing and remove Yontoo, Yontoo Runtime, Yontoo Layers, BrowserProtect, Desk365. You may also need to factory-reset your browser.
I am not finding anything yontoo related, nor the other programs you mentioned. This is the only site I see the pop up on so there may be a cookie thing related to this site. I see 7 of them.
I did intercept the spyware they tried to send me. Norton AV is happy.
You definitely have malware installed. They might have renamed it, or somehow hidden it from the add/remove menu. Look at some of the other "hits" for "Consumer Survey Group" -- there are several other removal schemes discussed (though most are dodgier than using add/remove).
you might want to............
Give the "tech" guys the information as it seems they have not googled jack shit as of this time.
