I found a box of about 20 of these at a garage sale. It was with some hammers and saws so I am assuming it is a tool, but what is it? The long parts are 5in long and made of cast iron. There is one set that is chromed, but the rest are black. Any ideas?

It reminds me of a cue stick tip repair bracket. Glue the new tip on then place the long piece parallel to the stick. Then put the round piece over both as a friction clamp.

There are 7 of the black ones and one chrome. The chrome one has a hook on top. After taking a second look, it does seem plausible that this is for cue sticks, but why would one have a hook and why would anyone have 8 of them? Maybe it can be suspended from the ceiling while it dries...
No idea on the hook. I just know my dad used to have one. Maybe this guy owned a pool hall.
or a reapir service..

Nah...it's for dipping hogs to boil the hair off, The rings and wedge shaped buggers lock the hind feet. Attach to a single tree on the tractor and a lift boom..dip away.

Them "pet" pigs..Vietnamese I think..LOLNo, for real, we some "hoggins" like them as I wuz growing up..I don't have a scale for reference, but my Gpa used some some kinda two sided wegges and rings..the rings titghten the wedge locks.Method # 2 was a iron rod piercing the two bone space right behind the hock joint, but that could taint the meat there..and we ate every thing except the oink..

You were right. I was able to find an almost identical tool for sale. Here is a nice picture of it in use. This is exactly what I have.
Thanks

Pool cue repair tool. I ran a pool room in my younger days (my Mom was SO proud of me. - lol) and I used those to glue new tips on the cues. There was also a sanding tool that clamped to the cue and squared off the end for the new tip.
We had eight tables and I often had 5-6 cues in the rack behind the counter with those gadgets clamping down new tips.
so I hope ya got a good deal on 20 somethings ya don't need that retail for a buck fifty new!
I'd try to trade the whole box in for a coupla beers at a dirty little pool hall.
gotta find a dirty little one ... probably more stick damage.
the nice new well lit places probably just buy new sticks ...
less chance of getting at least a beer outta the box.
