What kind of window balances are these?
I had an older homes window company tell me I couldn’t get replacement balances because they were discontinued. I have no idea what kind they are or any idea how to get the window out to clean them. Any input would be appreciated. The house was built in 1985.

Have you checked out; http://www.strybuc.com? They have several types of Jambliners/balances for both Tilt and Non-Tilt windows. The thickness of the sash also matters.
They are the supplier I use when working on old windows.
In about 1986, I put in a set of windows that looked just like this. I recall that they were made by Johnson Postman. I think the company still exists in Tacoma WA, good luck.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I haven’t been able to find any info on them. Do you remember if there was a simple way to remove the windows and clean them? I would like to get them replaced the balance at some point but there is mold between the screen and outer glass sash?!? My main priority right now is to clean the windows properly.
Searching Blaine Hardware is a good source for window parts.

They used to have a search function but now I see they’ll identify for you......just send them a picture. Might work for you.
Best of luck.
you may have to go old school and clean them from the exterior - ladder, bucket, squeegee and rags
some of the old replacement windows like that you could take out by pushing them to one side and pop it out of that spring balance. Problem is getting the pin back into the spring balance once the spring "springs"
good luck
Check out http://www.strybuc.com they have several types of jambliners for both tilt and non-tilt windows. The thickness of the sash also matters in finding a replacement. in terms of removing the sash from the jambliners it depends on whether they are tilt or non-tilt sash.
