I own a general contracting company that specializes in maintenance and repair for a variety of small commercial, higher end residential and rental (property management) customers. Lately I have been getting quite a few requests for small painting jobs. A realtor who is selling a home might have 2 rooms in a house to be painted, or a office might need a room painted and it needs to be done a.s.a.p. (isn’t every job that way) and we can’t wait for a painter.
My question is, how do I price these jobs and be competitive and yet still make money on the labor involved. If I have to have 16 hrs labor on a job, I can’t price it like I would 16 hours of service work.
Any comments or direction would be appreciated.
