I am a DIY that used to do framing in summers about 20 years ago. I am going to replace an exterior load bearing wall of the house with 2×6’s. I have access to a porter cable FR 350 nail gun and was wondering what type and size of nails to use for this nail gun. I saw 12d galvinized spin nails that fit this gun. Would this be a good choice?

Yep, they'll work. But maybe over kill. 3 1/4" bright common stick nails oughta do it and save you a few coins as well. The boxes usually list which guns the nails are compatable with. FR-350 are pretty common guns, but Hitachi NR-83 uses the same nails and shows up on more of the boxes. Look for that.
I agree with diesel....some things are over kill
Some say to use 12-16d when framing. personally? I never would.
I've always used 10's.
And some say to use 6 nails per stud top and bottom....I use 4...top and bottom.
Be hey....thats jus' me

Somebody went to a lot of trouble to determine the best way to stick a building together. Must get a kickback from the nail manufacturer - or sumpin'.

Fixed the attachment size - I think.
I would use 3" nails, not 3-1/4", cuz they won't poke through the other side of a doubled 2x and snag your delicate skin as you squeeze by.
