I’ve got a hundred and thirty dollars to blow by Thursday and I’ve got my eyes on three tools in that range, but I’m torn on which one to get. I don’t “have” to have any of the three but any one of the three would definatley get used.
So I leave it up to a jury of my peers. What would you get?
P.S. if you come up with anything else in that range that you think I might like let me know.

If you hang doors that level will pay for itself.
If It were me I'd go get a money order and send it to someone like myself, but if your going to be selfish and I know you just bought a drill last week(milwaukee) that would leave either the level or the bag, hell you decide,I dont really care.

That was a company drill. It stays on my work truck.Who Dares Wins.
OK, I guess you've ruled out the money order thing!
If you dont have a good drill at home than I would go with that, your an electrician, what do you need a level for? As for the organizer bag, hell whats the dash board for!
Doug
I've got a few good drills at home, but could always use another. Especaly a solid light weight one like the Panasonic. I'v got a 15.6V but wouldn't mind having a 12vWho Dares Wins.

Thanks for the tool pack link. Nice for general hauling around. Will it last the rigors of the job site? If you're a carpenter, make a nice tool box and show your wares.
There are better tool manufacturers than Panasonic. (They make radios and irons) It's cheaper in the long run to buy up.
I bought my first Stabila about fifteen years ago. I was sold immediately when I read the sign above a level on display at Smoot Lumber. " This level was thrown 150 times in our parking lot". It was still perfect. I have Stabilas from 9" to 6'6". That's my vote.

Panasonic is up. They make some bad Azz drills.Who Dares Wins.
You asked.
Just goes to show ya. Some drive a Chevy, some drive a Ford or other, you say Panasonic I say anything but.
Happy shopping.
TKH, have you used a Panasonic drill? Would be curious to know what your complaint about them is, and what cordless drills you do like?
The bag looks pretty sturdy. I'm an electrician and would mainly use it for those tools.Who Dares Wins.
The 'bag' seems OK if you can keep it 'organized', the drill may be the most practical, but the level-set seems more for the 'spoiled'. It sounds like 'spoil' money to me. Good Luck!
One thing I have learned the hard way. The end of today is for organizing for tommorrow. I just had to start taking time and getting all my ducks in a row at the end of the day so I don't start out with a mess the next day.Who Dares Wins.
You're one up on me.
I actually had a short day today, but I still just threw my tools back into my van without putting them away.
I should be outside now organizing but here I am on BT. I think I'm addicted to this place
I got home at 10:30 tonight, When it came time to pick up I chuckled to myself, I almost had to eat my words but I still took the time to put em all back where they belong.Who Dares Wins.
That bag is so some junkie can steal all you good stuff at once.
As the owner of at least a dozen drills, I'd rather have the levels.

CAG, saw you have the mobile max saw stand on your list. Have you looked at the Ridgid table saw stand? I have had one for about 3 years and would buy another tommorow if anything happened to this one. Not sure what the price is. Worth looking at.
Good luck with your wish list,

Have you heard the term. When pigs fly?
Those were pretty good ideas, I've got the angle finder, you definatly need one. That fall arrest thing would be good when I'm drinking too. I could tie off to the bar. Who Dares Wins.
Gunner,
I would buy the Veto Pac. I have drills (you say you do too).
I have levels (granted, not that nice, but they pass the test of flipping it around and showing the same reading. You probably have a level and if you don't, you can get a decent level cheap).
But I still haven't found a good answer for the principle tool bag. And the Veto Pro Pac looks like it might be that bag. (And I haven't found anything close to it that is cheap unless you want to work out of a five gallon bucket)
Rich Beckman
Another day, another tool.
Gunner, tough call - depends on what you have, and do
I've got three of the 12 volt Panasonic drills of various ages and really like them. For $50 more you could get 3.5 amp hour nickle metal hydride batteries in place of the 2 amp hour ni cads http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006IIO5/qid=1087358491/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/103-8175849-6171833?v=glance&s=hi
I have the level set also and it is sweet, can't recall if you had marked the magnetic set or not. I have the magnetic which is real nice when setting doors
one hell of a problem you have for yourself
best of luck

My LONG LOST SON!
Any of those would be perfect gift for me as a father's day present.
I also ready have the 15.2 drill so I don't really need another one. But still the thought counts.
Dad we have to talk. Catch up on 41 years of child support, and I'll buy you a drill. LOLWho Dares Wins.
I'd get this bag... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001LQY2Q/qid=1087363877/br=1-13/ref=br_lf_hi_13//103-1169355-9700619?v=glance&s=hi&n=3066811 Great lil bag... lot less money.
Then blow the rest on a really nice steak dinner out, couple bottles good wine... you know!
I looked at those and I don't really want another tool pouch. I want a small bag that isn't too much to tote around, but still have all my tools lined up so I can pluck them right out. I have one made by CLC and it's O.k. but the sides flop over if you put tools in the side slots. I'll get the Veto pac I just can't decide if I want it this time. Who Dares Wins.
Leave the $130 in the bank for now. Don't spend it until you don't have to ask. That way you'll get some tool you really need and want. In the mean time, you could even add more money to the "next tool" account.
Usually it's the other way around, we know what we want, we just don't have the cash. Look at this as an opportunity to be prepared.

I ran this by my buddy today. He just grinned kicked back and said. "Get a hooker." So that's two votes for hookers.Who Dares Wins.
I would blow it all on some Bessey K-body clamps. Some long-bar ones, capable of going to at least 40 inches.
Can't ever have enough clamps. You ought to get 4 to stay in your budget.
That's a thought. I'm seriously lacking in the clamp department.Who Dares Wins.
you could send me that buck and half finally you'd break even after interest..:>)

I'd say get the levels ...
but ...
I have the set with the magnets ...
That's part of the magic ... sticking the tall one to the hinges on a prehung.
What's the mag one run?
How much you gonna have to add to the budget.
Not sure if I'd even buy the non-mag after using the magnetic one so much ...
Then again ... I like to do basements and bulkheads outta steel ...
so they do double duty.

The magnets are about fifty bucks more. I don't want to spend that much.Who Dares Wins.
I've come to a decision. I going to get the tool case.I'm going to wait on the Stabila until I can get the magnetic ones. The drill I've got enough to hold me over, and I've been thinking more about the tool case then the other three today so it's official. Besides from the sound of it I'll be the inovator here since no one else seems to have one.
Another decision I came to today I'm going to stock one tool bag full of junk tools for helpers. I had three with me today and I'm getting tired of having to borrow back my own tools. Their all pretty good about taking care of them.(have a reputation about being very nasty to anyone that abuses them or doesn't bring them back.) But I want my tools when I want them.
Anyway that's what I'm getting wish me luck guys.

Too bad you only have $130, I always thought you wanted one of these...maybe if you pasted the $130 to your forehead.

O.K. I changed my mind again. I was looking the kitchen over this morning before I left for work, and decided to spruce it up a little. The wife is going to Syracuse weekend after this for a week and I was planning on gutting the bathroom and redoing it while she was gone. (I like to suprprise her when she comes home from a trip). But I decided to do the kitchen instead. So I'm going to take the money and buy a nice new ceiling light, and maybe some rope lighting for the toekicks. A new vinyl floor is a definate. But I decided to kick in my own mad money since I really do want a nice fixture for the ceiling.

If you look at it like that, then I guess I'm second in command. Remember the National Lampoon movie Christmas vacation with Chevy Chase? After Chevy lit up the house he made the remark to his son that one day he would pass down the power of illumination to his son. That's always been a joke betweem my father and I. I love that line.Who Dares Wins.
