I”m sure I know the answer to this, but….I”m not the wiser on everything so just seeking a confirmation here.
Toilet in my house overflows due to child improperly using it (haven’t we ALL had that problem at least once). Water manages to make it arouind edges of subfloor and into joist bays and resulting ceiling below in the LR shows very little water “damage” except for the DW seam has bubbled along the joint some. Otherwise it kinda looks like a bad tape job vs. water damage.
I believe the solution is to do nothing to the DW except let it air dry itself out over the ensuing weeks and that likewise any water on the subfloor under the linoleum and such will likewise dry out and the floor will be fine. The ceiling may require very minor touchup, but that’s it.
Am I on track on this? Or should I think differently about how to handle this?

That's what I would do but then again I don't know where the break off point between letting it ride and going deeper is.
Just a thought but I noticed a group home for kids had a vinyl floor that was installed in one piece and it was wrapped up the walls several inches and the corners sealed. The threshold was an inch or so. It effectively made the bathroom floor a tub. It would have been even more effective with a floor drain but I did notice that a wet vacuum was nearby. Evidently having a dozen and a half young kids using a bath tends to get a little messy.
Yeah, if nothing buckled up or popped loose in the flood stage its not going to happen now that its drying out. The next flood could be a different story. Let it dry good before re-taping.
