dealing with this company has been a total disaster! i ordered them on march 12 and they still have not shipped, their website say’s 3-5 day’s lead time! yet my card was charged on the 16th, i call everyday now and they always say the same thing (we’ll find out what happend and we’ll call you) the person (s) answering the phone of course have to ask “the wharehouse” to find out the ship date but they never do!! i normally never order anything online but i broke my own rule and now it appears i’m screwed! i think at this point i have been SCAMMED. i will give them two more working days to ship then i will call my lawyer. has anybody else dealt with these people?

don't bother with lawyer $. Just call card company and contest the charge. They'll backcharge the co.

Ouch -- that's usually not a perk on a debit card. Read the agreement, or check with yur bank to be sure.
Maybe you should check out the tips under the "Ripped Off" thread. :)

get a copy of one of your credit card statements, and there will be a phone number where you can call for problems. Tell tham that you ordered the shutters but they have not shipped, and the card has been charged. they will take the charge off the card and suspend any interest on the unpaid $, and they will send a letter to the vendor asking for an explanation.

They will if it's a credit card, but they probably won't if it's a debit card.
Debit cards CAN be back charged, but that does not mean that the bank will.
Now Visa does have policeys on "fraud".

Then Zero Liability.
But it is not clear if that covers merchant complains.
If you have the Gold or Platium version then it also has Purchase Security, which should cover this.
Getting your bank to respond is the difficult part, sometimes.
However, you need to learn how to complain.
First to the comapny and then if that does not work, to the bank.
Lawyers are a very, very, very, very last step.
When you call be very, very polite, but specific and firm.
Get the "customer services" name (or extension number) and keep a log when you call them and what there response is.
Again firms, but polite and DEMAND to know when they will call you back.
Say "Miss Jones now you will call me tomorrow by 10 AM" RIGHT.
Then at 10:01 call them and say Miss Jones promissed to call me at 10 and has not. Then from your log repeat all of the other times that they promissed to solve this.
Each time as for their suppervisor and agian get names, number, and record it in the log.
Last, but not least call corporate offices.
