I’ve been searching the forums for info on glueing bamboo with no success. (maybe I’m not using the right bamboolean search phrase.. ;->
I’ve just ordered stair treads from lumberliquidators for short money (I sprang for Timbergrass for the bulk of the install) I have two pie treads which need to be made out of the same 1″ stock in order to maintain an even rise. I’m hoping to glue and biscuit several treads together to form a panel. I’ve heard that the bamboo is manufactured with some sort of formaldehyde type of glue. Is this Hyde glue? Is there some acceptable substitution ?

You should be able to join pieces with any wood glue. I've used the yellow woodworker's glue on bamboo with complete success.
Kay, thanks.
big bamboo should come preglued, no?
Maybe, but I've only seen 4x8 veneer ply....too thin should it need to be sanded and refinished.
I have 4'x8'x1" laminated that is bamboo through and through. Using it for treads. Sorry, no extra. I've also planed and glued the flooring to achieve thickness.
For future reference, who is the manufacturer of the ply? WOuld it be sandable like the flooring products?
Got the 1"x11"x48" treads for $24 each and I'm stretching the material into a hall which I didn't account for in the materials list so this will do the trick. The 1" thick ply would have been easier.
