I've got the Senco 1/4" crown stapler(sorry dont know the # on it, thinking SLS something) Works great, have had it for 15 years and never a problem with it.
I've worked in shops that have had the same guns and never seen any problem with any of them.
It shots up to 1 1/2" or 2" lenghts, cant remember for sure.

All my other guns are Hitachi except for the PC NS100 stapler- no complaints. Is there something you don't like about it?
I have a Bostich oil free narrow crown stapler. Works great. No problems. I have, in the past, abused the heck out of it and it keeps on ticking.
What is it you don't like about the PC?

I'll say this real quick because I'll have to duck the punches thrown at me. I picked up a Sears nc stapler about 8 years ago on clearance for I think $30. I have used it tons as a pro finisher and it still works fine! I had bought it as a throw away but it just won't die!
I don't recommend getting a Craftsman, but hey...ya never know.
I've heard good things about the Senco.
There.
They've got their brass knuckles on and I'm outa here...
the clincher is that you bought it as a throw away...
it knows this and refuses to cooperate...........Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Sears will getchya comin' or goin'.
I have the top of the line Bostich since that's what was available at HD the day it was needed, but it's prone to miss a staple every 50 or so. It's very light and shoots well, but could be better.
After paying $120 or there abouts, the same gun was available as a factory refurbished for about half that from one of the online tool sellers, but I can't remember if it was amazon or toolking or someone else.
I have a Senco too and have had no trouble at all. My Senco brad nailer, however, routinely puts a nice punch mark right next to the brad which is still sticking out of the wood. A pain in the po-po when you're nailing in 1/4 round behind a sheet of glass.
Get a good 23 guage headless pin nailer for that small of work. You won't believe the results.
Lowes has the Hitachi 1 1/4" NC stapler on clearance for $59. Having said that - I'd reccomend getting one that will shoot the full length 1 1/2" staples - could be hand for carcass or sawhorse construction, ect.Not sure how a 23 headless would be any good at all fastening cabiner backs - they'll just pull out over the heads...JT
Only use the 23 for tiny mouldings like 1/4" qtr rnd or to hold a return on a piece of med to small moulding while the glue dries...it's perfect for that. It's great in highly detailed kitchen and cabinet work. the hole it makes is almost imperceptible. Never use it for the back on cabs. The nc stapler is the one for that.
That's what I was trying to say - a previous poster had suggested a 23 pinner for the original poster's question.JT
Got it.
thanks all for your thoughts. sorry about the late reply (little romance the last few days).About the PC. i dont really dislike it i just have a bad taiste in m,y mouth from their framer plus i have their brad nailer and it's just fine works great but there are little desighn things that irritate me.i think i'll get it anyway because amazon has a good deal on a recon. thanks again for the input______________________________________________

I picked up one of the Hitachi staplers last week, works real well, just can't find any 1/2 inch staples locally so my wife can use the gun for upholstery (dual-purpose tool). Had a contractor put up soffitt around a carport last year, he used 1/4" plywood and a finish nailer. After it all fell down, I bought the stapler, I think it'll stay up now ;-)
I started having that problem with my much used SLP-20, the 1-5/8" gun, and finally I put a new driver in and my problem has not occurred since....about a $20 fix. Easy as pie, too, as it comes with a new piston on it. Regards....
