I want to pour a white concrete kitchen counter top. How can I make white concrete? I’ve been staring lovingly at the bags of Thinset mortar in Home Depot, but before I jump in and mix some concoctions I’ll regret, what do you experts have to say about white concrete?
And how thick should a poured concrete counter top be? One inch? 1.5 inches?
I’m assuming I’ll lay some sort of woven wire down to strengthen it before I pour it.

I would do
some serious reading on concrete countertops before doing anything else, unless you want some really expensive and large paperweights.
You can (and I think should) buy sack mix specifically for countertops.

I agree with what david said - there's more to this rather simple sounding project than meets the eye. If you've never made one before I suggest making a small practice top - getting one of the nicer looking finishes isn't necessarily hard to get, but it does require a solid understanding of what you're doing and a bit of feel for the process. Many first time attempts resemble something that looks worse than a section of sidewalk - hardly what you'd want on a kitchen countertop.
Get the book Concrete Countertops by Fu Tung Chen. It will tell you all you need to know for a basic top.
White concret is actually not really white. Its made using white cement that is more off-white then white although it is much lighter than normal gray cement. You'll probably also need to acquire some white sand and other aggregate. I've never seen white concrete available in bag form. You'll have to mix your own.
As skilled crafts go, making nice concrete countertops is actually one of the easier ones.
