I’m planing to put about 1600 square ft of new yellow knoty pine 6″wide plank floor in a new home. I’m willing to do my own t&g on each plank. Any leads where to get the lumber whole sale?

You know you don't "have to" do T&G if you don't want to.
You coul ddo a lap joint or just butt em' together like I did in my entire house. Face nailed with rose head clinch nails and PL Premium to the "clean" subfloor.

You know, not to generalize, but the 29% of people who still support President Bush are the ones who love to pronounce themselves more patriotic than the rest of us. But just saying you're patriotic is like saying you have a big one. If you have to say it, chances are it's not true.

What is pl premium? i was thinking about using pine or fir 1x flooring in my cabin. I considered face nailing but was unsure how that would jive with seasonal movement. Please advise.
PL Premium is fantastic polyurethane glue that comes in caulking tubes..
Use the glue to a clean substrate/subfloor and face nail the boards using clinched rose heads in like in rez'z picture in a previous post in this thread. Don't worry about seasonal movement..its works fine that way. Actually you won't even need the glue if you use the nails.
I did it both ways in different rooms and it works fine either or...

Andy, your stories about your floor encouraged me to do mine just that way.
I used 1x8 "center mathed" carsiding. Yellow pine, and used Maze cut nails to hold it down.
It looks plenty rustic, but I just did about a 5x10 area in front of the front door.
Thanks for the encouragement. I need to get pics....
I couldn't find floor pics, but I did find a pic of the white pine carsiding I put on the ceiling, and the fake beam that we like, cheesy as it is.

Looks good the way it is,,,sometimes I just can't leave well enough alone...lol.

We oiled it before we put it up.The flash from the picture makes it look kinda chalky or washed out in places that it doesn't in real life.SWMBO and I "debated" finish before we put it up, and settled on an oil finish to try and keep it from getting to dark.A medium to large guy named Alan, not an ambiguous female....
