Hello,
Greetings from Amsterdam. It is getting warmer here at last but still pretty cold by my standards.(30 degree nites)(born in california).Anyway I just bought a nice old (1890) apartment here and with the combination of 11 foot ceilings and the somewhat slow boiler and radiator heating system the house is still cold inside a lot of the time and also very slow to heat up.I am thinking of putting in a wood stove in the living room but also a ceiling fan. This is in addition to plugging up all the leaking doors and windows (all single glass) and trying to insulate the floors. Will a fan do much good? The insulation here in the walls is nonexistant and not really possible except to build new walls in front of the old brick and plaster ones and that would make the narrow space even narrower. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
thanks, Dan
