I have maple flooring finished with water-based poly. A bottle of Windex leaked and left a blue stain along the edges of a couple of boards. Any suggestions on how to remove/repair this problem?

I think I would sand it, then try to flood out some of the color, let it dry and sand again, refinish with the water poly. -The windex lifted and destroyed the finish.

Zen..it's likely not gonna work. The ammonia has leached in pretty far. I guess it's a patch job. Ammonia is nasty, nasty stuff look what the fumes do to tannin rich woods..now add some in liquid fashion with blue koolaid in it? DEATH to floor.

Sorry 'bout your floor. Sphere probly right. If you go to http://www.windex.com and use the tab at top that says "contact us" and perhaps they have someone who can help with a suggestion...
From their site:
"Windex¯ Glass and Multi-Surface Cleaners contain detergents, solvents, fragrance, Ammonia-D¯, and alcohol. They should not be used if ammonia is not recommended for use on surface. (Windex¯ Multi Task with Vinegar, Windex¯ Outdoor Window & Surface Cleaner, and Windex¯ Multi Task Glistening Citrus Orange do not contain ammonia. They are safe to use in these cases.)"
