Several years ago I purchased vinyl jambs and modernized some counterweighted wood double hung windows. The sash had to be modified, and the parting stop and sash cord pulleys had to be removed to accommodate the vinyl jamb liner. The back of the jamb liner was a firm foam material to provide the weather seal and tip-in feature.
These were not replacement windows…but were an economical modernization. The benefits are a good weather seal and the tip-in feature for easy cleaning.
I would like to do the same thing at a different house, but now I can’t find anyone that sells conversion jambs. Do you know where I can purchase these conversion kits?
