I’ll be installing jamb liners for a new set of sash windows (two windows).
What advice does anyone have about the installation of jamb liners?
Should I avoid them and use clock springs or spiral springs instead?
Thanks!

Where did you get the sash? Where did you get the liners? Will the work with each other? Need more info.... What is wrong with the existing liners? Is this a rope & weight window unit?
I haven't gotten the jamb liners yet.
I will make the windows myself to replace existing louvre windows that were installed the in the washroom of my old house. I don't have enough carpentry experience to make the casements and window sills and exterior molding, etc. for traditional weight and pulley double hung windows. I can make the windows, however. Thanks for your response.
Not sure of the size of your window, but, most of the old jalousie windows were "standard" sash openings. I would look in to a sash kit and see if that won't save some time & money. M/W makes a nice unit for the $$$$$$. What size is your opening? What slope is the sill?As long as GOD makes "bad builders" and rich people... I will have a job
THe opening is 41 x 42 1/2.
There is no slope on the sill as it does not project to the exterior of the house. As I mentioned before there are louvre windows there currently but I suspect that the louvre windows there are not original to the house.Perhaps there were windows that opened out like doors...?Does this information help? Thanks!
Marvin makes a product called "tilt-pak". To fit your opening with a custom bevel for the bottom sill, primed wood and Low-E I.G., it should run about $415.00 + tax. That would be the way I would go. At least you would have a guarantee.
