hello, ALL – – longtimer from Breaktime with a question about color –
I’m making a window assembly – a 60″ wide by 44″ tall picture window, flanked on either side by 20″wide by 44″ tall casements – this fills up a south wall of the dining area open to the kitchen – this is a short wall, about 7′ tall and walnut predominates, with a walnut stained floor, 19th century walnut door and trim – the frame for the windows will be walnut, and substantial – thinking in terms of just paneling that whole wall with walnut rather than messing with small areas of skimmed drywall –
so….what color do I paint the sash? – the picture window has 6 panes, the casements 2 each – should I paint them ‘walnut’ color (I do have a good paint match for walnut)? or a contrasting color – I’m thinking the traditional white might be too much contrast – there is a green that I use elsewhere that I like – a ‘Sturbridge’ color, tending to olive – there is lots of wood with our house, so color is welcome – –
any comments/suggestions?
thanks, DOUD
