We’re finalizing house plans and have to decide on window manufacturer. Have decided on casement windows with low-e argon filled. Wondering what brand you guys are using and why. Does anyone have experience with Pollard windows? Also, what about doors?

't ever heard of Pollard. My experience is that it is hard to finbd a better VALUE than Andersen for windows and doors overall.
I also like Norco and Weathershield but I hear various criticisms of both.

Yeah, I have to second Piff's comments. When Anderson rolled out to my Mom's house and supported their 20 year warranty about 3 months before it expired, I knew they were for real. I don't remember the exact problem, but it was relatively minor. They stood behind it and made it right.
I put Andersons in my last house and I'm putting them in my current house. They really aren't that expensive for the piece of mind you get.
I had a neighbor a few years back that really had to go to the mat with Pella over some shoddy windows. Never really did get satisfactory results, just got tired of the game.
MERC.
Depends on what you're looking for.
If it's classic looks, and top quality, I'd look to Marvin, Kolbe & Kolbe and Pozzi.
Clad is available from all of them, and I think Kolbe and Pozzi offer a factory finished wood exterior in a variety of colors with a long warranty, so you can get the classic looks with some degree of freedom of repeated painting. The warranty varies.
Another thing to consider, and it may not apply to you as you mention your using casement only, is the firms matching between casement, double hungs and so on. So many of the manufacturers don't have good intermatching between lines.
I'm so sick of lookig at houses with windows "a la carte"...just a hodgepodge of windows that have no relationship to each other.

I haven't had experience with anything else but Andersen. I live in an area with few choices.
A nice thing about Andersen casements is that the sashes where they touch the glass are vinyl, but all the other interior trim is wood. With any window in a northern climate in the winter you get just a bit of moisture on the glass in certain weather. Having the vinyl touch the glass eliminates the wood from rotting.
You might try looking at Peachtree Doors and Windows. I just installed 62 of their Ariel line wood casements with aluminum clad exteriors. They are the only company that I am aware of that comes with a lifetime warranty to the original owner.
