What’s the best way to install a window (with flexible mounting flanges) in a concrete foundation wall?
I’ve seen a lot of them nailed directly to the window bucks and then 1X trim applied over the flanges over the concrete. This looks to me like a fairly shoddy way of doing it, as the window sticks out of the wall.
I’ve installed mine directly to the PT window buck, but I cut it back 1.5 inches to allow the trim to be recessed flush with the concrete. Worked out ok, but involved a lot of labor intensive trim cutting.
The trim is cedar, the windows are aluminum clad, and the concrete has the brick texture. Is there a better way?
