Windows XP gurus, please help

Gene_Davis | Posted in General Discussion on March 6, 2007 04:14am

I don’t know exactly how I changed my settings, but I used to be able to cut images and paste them into posts. Now I cannot.

Furthermore, when entering text in posts, the font is now a Times Roman type, whereas it used to be the Arial type I see when reading text in posted messages (including this one.)

And, it used to be that I had the capability of doing italics, bulleted lists, etc., when posting.

Can you advise?

Win XP.I went into Internet Options the other day and did something to remove cookies, I cannot remember what, exactly. It was because Prospero shot me down and wanted a login, and I could not do it without deleting the cookie files first.

Are you using Firefox or IE to post?Firefox doesn't give you all those fun options that IE does, font change, color change, lists, etc. Maybe it's open by accident.Clearing cookies shouldn't have anything to do with this. That would have swept the authenticated sessions out. Maybe you changed your default browser choice at the same time??But, you are also saying that you can't control-c to copy and control-v to paste in your posts, either? Not sure if that works in IE, but it definitely doesn't in FF.Tua res agitur, paries cum proximus ardet ~ Horace

Not sure what you were copying from? Highlight and copy and paste. If you cut it x- s it.

If you clear all your cookies then the tracking Breaktime/Taunton wont let you in.  So then you have to reenter user and Pswd.

If you go to start/control panel/ internernet properties You see some of the choices. When you go to the middle box (temp internet files) settings/Then view files- That shows all the cookies, which you should deleate . But when you do then you have to reenter password protected sites.

Usually it works the other way around-once you get rid of the cookies it won't let you in.
