Does anyone have a preferred wood filler for exterior use (midwest temp range… -20 to 100+) that could be used on a wood deck?
Deck seems to consist of regular kiln dried and pt lumber. The floor portion is getting some exterior carpet, the rails/spindels are getting hit with exterior house paint (kilz, then ext paint).
HO wants countersunk screws on rails/spindels filled prior to painting.

The carpet is going to trap moisture and promote wood rot.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.

That would fall under the catagory of: NMP ;)
Although it probably wouldn't be a problem if they swapped out the wooden decking for one of the plastic-deckings now available.
As long as the deck rail/posts/spindels look ok, that's all I have to worry about.
