I have a customer who would like hardwood floor installed in his new home. The builder installed OSB in the areas where the hardwood floor is to be installed; after being told to install plywood. Will this cause any problems such as a squeaky floor or other problems?

If it's Advantech, it's no problem at all. If it's another type of osb, still shouldn't be a problem, but might help to run flooring perpendicular to joists.
I agree. I know that you are not supposed to put wood flooring over particle board but have not heard the same about osb and definitely not advantech.
Thank you for the reply. I will check to see if it's Adavantech. I am planning on laying the hardwood floor at a diagonal with a border.
Diagonal doesn't count the same as perpendicular. Thickness of the subfloor makes a difference too. It should be at least 3/4" over 16"oc
