We are building a new two story house. Our contractor is in framing and has been rained on several times now. There is black mold on the 2x4s. Looks like we won’t have the roof on until late December. Any suggestions regarding mold, mud on the subfloor and rain?

Dodie, Late December is only about 3 weeks away. Once you get a lid and wrap the exterior, you can spray the entire building with BoraCare which is both a termiticide and a fungicide. It is a borate-based product which is available in liquid form and mixed 50/50 with hot water. You can spray it with a garden sprayer. It will eliminate any current (and probably future) problems with dryrot, fungus and termites.
BoraCare is manufactured by Nisus Corp. Do a search on this board for Nisus and you will find several threads on sourcing and use of the product.
Good luck,
Bill Pickard
*Thanks Bill,I'll let you know how it goes.Dodie
