The dogs have chewed a six inch hole in some very old redwood siding which is no longer available. Is there a wood filler that could be used on a hole this large. It must get fixed within the next few weeks.

Hmmm, bad dog - no biscuit! Bruce, For a six inch hole, I 'spose thats not as bad as losing six feet or six panels, anyhow, there are some hand moldable wood putties out there that come in a tube, and/or in a box in powder form, just add water. I understand that the stuff dries hard enough to sand and drill. I don't know about its "exterior" capabilities. Don't recall any makers names right now, but there is a small variety of colors to choose from; pine, mahogany, etc. I've seen it for sale in hardware stores and the Rockler woodworking shops. I'll keep my eyes open for the manufacturer(s) and any details for later. Hope this helps, good luck.
*bruce - You don't say whether the redwood is painted or stained. Stained, especially if semi-transparent, is tougher, but either way I'd say this sounds like a 'Dutchman' repair to be glued in with polyurethane glue (and nailed) - you'll have to fake the siding (profile? texture?) on the patch piece of redwood. Take care to get surfaces to line up before the glue cures. Watch as glue cures and wipe excess w/mineral spirits, acetone, etc. Paint or stain to match adjacent.
*Ref my first reply, "PC Lumber Putty Epoxy", quick set and brown in color and made by Protective Coating Co. of Allentown, PA. According to the package, after being hand molded it can be sanded, sawn, painted, tapped, drilled, cut...ha, you name it. FYI, they also make "PC-Crete, fast drying and yellow in color. Good luck.
