I’ll be building a 24’W x 42’L workshop this spring. It will have an open basement which I like to have little of no support posts. I was considering wood trusses for main floor but am looking for information of loads / spans tables and design of this system. Can anyone point me to a decent book or WEB site that may help me with this. I suspect that unsupported wood truss floor system will have to pretty deep for a width of 24′.

A 24' clear span wood webbed floor truss would ideally be about 18" deep.
You can make them a bit shallower by putting them closer together. But the shallower they get, the more likely they are to have some bounce to them.
