Acorn Woodpeckers have been active on my fascia for so long that it probably solid oak. I need to work on my gutters so as long as I’m up there two stories I thought I’d cover the fascia with fiber cement. Will this stop those pesky little devils?

I had the same problem for about 5 years. They went through the gable end into the attic. I covered the siding and fascia with fiber cement in 2021 and haven’t had trouble since. They moved back into the trees where they belong..
And I had the same issue but luckily they just disappeared one day. Hopefully, it won't happen again
Also investigate whether they are there because of bugs. It's not the only reason they peck on houses but it is sometimes one.
These are acorn woodpeckers. They are making holes to store acorns.
I've used fiber cement to stop woodpeckers many times. Never a problem.
