Work Wanted – What Else Is New

gdcarpenter | Posted in Help/Work Wanted on August 17, 2009 07:04am

Hi to all. Long time BT’er.

Recently relocated back to sunny Raleigh, NC after a three year stint in CT. Looking for a quality oriented contractor/construction company to work with. Know there are quite a few of you out there.

Over 10 years in the trade with experience from framing to finish as a carpenter, lead carpenter and held North Carolina General Contractors License prior to leaving the state.

If things are looking up for anyone out there sure would appreciate the opportunity to help you. You can view some representative samples of my work at my old businesses web site gdcarpenterinc.com

Just wanted to say good luck and give you a bump.

Man, I thought you got out when the gettin' was good. I have been looking at some jobs, but after I give a realistic price, never hear a peep.

I will keep you in mind, though, if I hear of anything.

This came in my email today... lady would like it more modern, nice, probably mahogany, and around $500... interested? Actually, she only wants 1/2 of the picture<G>

Thanks for writing back snort. Had a good run in CT for a stretch, then the fella I worked for kinda went belly up. Been back over a month and things do seem brighter here than there. The cabinet project looks interesting, and haven't priced mahogany hereabouts, but seems the 500 would cover materials. If nothing else getting back to gainful employment would get me out of the ever expanding honey do list. Though looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of custom built ins for our home here in the 'hood', inside the beltline that is, five points area. Enjoyed the stay in CT but Raleigh feels more like home to me.Let's not confuse the issue with facts!

I'm thinking the drawers are only for aesthetics. why not make the top 4 operational and the rest just dummy drawer fronts.

thats all yer gonna get for 5 bills

If they hire you, does Optimus Prime come with the package?  If so, you oughtta mention it.  Really sweetens the deal, in my opinion.

Hi Garfield, good luck with your search.  I read here a while back       some of youor fun with that last guy.

I hear you and the ladies met the regulars downtown Levack last month.   I went over to the Levack arena on the Saturday nite of the reunion. I saw your truck in the closest parking spot!  You must haver connections.  I parked down near your Dad's house and had to walk over.  I didn't see you, but I didn't can't past the lobby though.

I hope you had a nice trip.   Maybe next time your up you can drop by for a beverage.   I'm by the skihill(onaping), probably live here forever.

    Have a good day

    Chris

Hi Cliffy,Sorry I missed you at the reunion, was only in for the Saturday night festivities. Wound up spending about a month finishing off the cottage renovations. Figure next year I'll just sit back and enjoy it, but then again I've been saying that for 21 years.Keep in touch with some of my former workmates in CT. Seems the CT Department of Labor has had the Law Enforcement People place arrest warrants and non payment of wages charges against my former employer. Court date keeps getting postponed, but will be curious as to the outcome. The gdboss is alive and well. Made the trip from CT to NC no problem.GarfieldLet's not confuse the issue with facts!
