Stained concrete floors, maple cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, granite-tile countertops. Every time a cabinet door closes (slams) it can be heard throughout the house. Rubber pads don’t really help with the doors. Most of the sound comes from the rattling inner panels that float within the rails/stiles.
We just bought this house. It is a 20 year old custom located in Arizona and the kitchen looks very nice. It just has the acoustics of a State Prison (concrete floors throughout). I’ve thought about sandwiching foam padding between the cabinet doors and a 1/8″ hardboard panel on the interior side of the door. Comments? Suggestions? Favorite brand of earplugs?

convert to open shelves?
Tear the end of a matchbook and slip it between the panel and frame.

Interesting how big a pig can be, eh whot? Don't worry, we can fix that later!
Take a micro pinner and pin the panels in place. Just a few places.
I know, everybody can relax, but the micro pin nails wont keep it from moving but it will stop the rattle, sometimes. They are not strong enough to lock the panel in place.
Wont gauarntee it 100% of the time but it does work, sometimes!
Or you can put some match book covers between the stile/rail and the panel.

I'm thinking clean silicone on the inside of the doors ...
where the panel is dado'd into the styles/rails ...
should make for enough seasonal movement ...
and ... hopefully contain the rattles ...

Do Jeff's suggestion, worked for me.
except this time I'd suggest "clear" silicone ...
as oppsoed to the "clean" stuff I originally proposed.

I don't want dirty clear silicone.
After doing any of the above suggestions you may want to check this out.

Glaziers points can snug up rattling panels, too. Work best if there's only a little play.
More play? Use silicone as Jeff 'n Junkhound mentioned.
