Would you Hire/Work for this Company
In my newspaper there was a flyer “The Home Connection of Blue Springs”
I started to put this in the business section, but decided to put it here for discussion about hiring these people and about people that want to belong to the franchise.
Now it had a web address, email address, and phone number, but no physicall address or business name or personal name.
BUT is did say 25 YEARS EXPERIENCE. But the name and web address all seemed new, so I was curious who this “company” was. So I check the web address http://www.homeconnectionusa.com/ and find that it was a franchise.
Now I look up the franchisee in my area and see;
“Following high school, Andrew attended Northwest Missouri State University, where he received a BS in Psychology. He worked on the management team in the health care field until he decided to make a career change. “I decided to make a career change when the opportunity presented itself to own my own business with Home Connection.”
“I attended Missouri State University in the health field and worked for a local construction company to pay my tuition. Since graduation I have held a management position at a Kansas City Health Agency, yet longed to get back into the construction field. The excitement of witnessing the development of a project has driven me to Home Connection USA, where I was able to get the training I needed to own and operate my own home repair and improvement co. I now own Home Connection of Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs.”
Now I see nothing in here that gives me any confidence that this guy has 25 years experience.
Here is an other “affilate”;
” Dan was born in Fort Riley, Kansas. He lived in Manhattan, Kansas for eight years before moving to Topeka, where he graduated from Topeka High School in 1994.
Dan started framing houses when he was eighteen, and did that for four years. He then started remodeling homes, and did that for three years. At that time, Dan decided that he wanted to run his own business. He became a Home Connection affiliate in October of 2001. “In this short time, I have succeeded more than I ever have before.” “
At least this one has some experience. Maybe between all of the affilates they have 25 years experience.
So what is all of the experience that this francise brings to the contractor;
“In August of 1999, Christine Huhs went to work in the home remodeling business in the Kansas City area. After learning the remodeling business, Christine saw the need for quality home remodeling done in a timely manner at a competitive price. January 2001 marks the birth date of Home Connection USA.”
Well she is certainly an OLD SALT in the business.
And why would anyone want to join;
As a Home Connection USA affiliate, you are your own boss. Some of the other benefits you will enjoy include:
Setting your own hours
Sub-Contractors
Numerous tax advantages
Control of your income
Your income potential is limitless. YOU are in complete control of how much you make. Our affiliates maintain a 42% profit margin with sales in excess of $250,000 per year.
As either some one wanting to hire a QUALIFIED contractor I would stay for away from them.
And if I was looking to some help in starting my own business I would save even father from them.

Gotta love that one. Pity the poor fools here who've been at it more than 2 years and still wouldn't claim to have learned it.
Wonder if she signed up for RK's program?
Cloud, how do you explain it to us poor fools that have been at it for 30? I hate to think of your response.
And by the way, I got the tape. Just need some minutes to sit down and view. How long do you give me?
Thanks.
calvinRemodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.
Shoot, calvin, I've been at breathing for a lot more than 30 and I still sometimes forget how. I ain't got a clue how someone can ever claim to have an industry figured.
Re the tape: If you hadn'ta said anything, I wouldn'ta known you had it. So I guess it's yours till your conscience bothers you or the next person emails me to ask when it's coming! I'll tell 'em to talk to you. Ha ha. Good man, Luka, for getting it mailed.
Nothing new. Just sounds like a "Work At Home Part Time for 100K Year" type thing that you routinely see advertised in newspapers and on telephone poles. I'll bet most of the company's income comes from franchise buy in fees and that they won't be around long. Parriahs that feed on the hopes and dreams(unrealistic mostly) of the less fortunate of society.
As always, the ones you want to hire are the ones you have to look for. The ones you want to avoid are the ones that come looking for you. ;-)

The franchise owner's name is Huhs ??? Like she has a LOT of huh's, huh?
What a hoot.....started remodeling in 1999 and has it all figured out.
Right.
What a bunch of bull feces. 42%? Ahh, yeah, right........I laugh, but what is not so laughable is the thought that people would get hooked into this and lose money. -Ken
