My ex partner tells me that he wants to buy a 5000watt (or bigger)generator. The problem? There’s none available! He said he checked everywhere, and they are all sold out. The wait is now 22 weeks, leave a deposit please!
Anyone else heard anything about it?

What's it gonna run on? People been watching too many Mad Max movies?
*That's what we discussed!I might buy stock in the oil companies
*I've always heard that gas will "keep" for about a month.I was at the local Stihl / Honda dealer last week and they seemed to have plenty of generators. Didn't scope the sizes but we had to wait 6 weeks last fall for our 6500.(if you buy a Honda beware of the GFCI. On some of the "contractors" models the entire system in GFCI protected - try hooking that up to a house and not tripping it.)
*Local Home Base and Home Depots seem to have plenty of generators in stock. That might change though. Last night on the local news they ran a story about wood stove shortages. Some people apparently buy the stove, have it installed, burn a log, then remove it and stash it in the gargage in case they need it. Guess I would expect stoves and wood to be in short supply and more expensive thanks to the Y2K dementia. However it has given me idea. I am thinking about selling fruitcake packed in 5 gallon pails flooded with CO2. It will keep forever and that way I can get rid of all the fruitcake from Christmas's past and make a profit on the side. I figure that even if you don't want eat it, you could construct a shelter out of it or throw it the marauding hordes as they are assaulting your brightly lit, easily detected generator powered home ;-)
*Blue - Tell your friend to wait about a year, then he'll be able to buy a good used one real cheap. Lee
