My Buderus boiler has an Ecomatic 3220 programmable electronic controller (micro-processor). It will be cold on Milennium Day if this thing needs an upgrede to its program or flash memory and I dont get it in time. (We have full house in the B&B that night.)
Buderus website is ‘sprechen Deutsch’. Any help out there? (I know, I can always set the date back a few years.)

If you can set the date back, then you can set the date ahead and see what happens....I expect nothing.

*There's nothing that a furnace controller does that you can't do with a multimeter, some jumper wires, and a lot of experience. For finicky furnaces, thermal oxidizers, etc, I keep 6 different colors of jumper wires. If you put power to the blower, it blows, regardless of the date. Likewise the gas solenoid, the ignitor, and all the safeties. Not for the faint of heart, though. Nor for someone who wants to set a thermostat and walk away.
*I'll check with my Buderus distributer and post back if I can find info on that controller. If it is not Y2K, you can set it for 1972 which has the same days as 2000. Works for old VCRs too.
*Are you saying that the Ecomatic 3220 programmable electronic controller keeps track of what year it is?If the controller does not know what year it is, it will not know about the year 2000 or any year for that matter. My Honeywell Chronoterm-III is programmable but it doesn't know more than the time of day and the day of the week. Not much reason for it to know more than that.
