To prevent moisture buildup and improve performance, install a continuous air barrier—such as drywall or specialized membranes—under tongue-and-groove boards or other interior wall paneling.

Milwaukee makes a 10" sidewinder - I've used one, but don't own one (mine is 8.25") -
big clunky saw, need strong arms - but it's got the depth of cut -
Milwaukee quality - I think that still means something -
I've used a Bigfoot on a Bosch worm drive and a Milwaukee sidewinder- the Bigfoot was much better.

I'd only look at the Bigfoot saws. (Bigfeet?) Anyway, I've got two of the their 10" saws.... one regular on a Skil 77 body and one with a 75 degree swing table on a Bosch worm body. Both excellent saws.
I bought both of mine as conversion kits. I already had saw bodies/motors around that had been cast aside with broken gaurds or tables or whatever so it made sense for me as the motors were fine. But you can buy them as a complete saw as well.
FWIW, this is definitely a time where the 15amp Bosch motor makes a big difference compared to the 13amp Skil motor. That 10" blade will want to bind and the extra two amps can get you through cuts a little easier than the Skil. It's much easier to conceivably burn up a motor spinning that 10" blade so it's worth thinking about.
But once you convert a saw, there's no going back because you have to cut a hub off the saw body to make the Bigfoot conversion work. The conversion is very easy though. Maybe 1/2 an hour tops.
If you're buying a complete saw, I'd look hard at the Bigfoot that comes on a Rigid worm chassis. Nice features. I don't know how many amps or what the price difference is though.
Dats what I want. no conversion type stuff.
Man, i wish I had your triceps, all I am good for is arm wrasseling.
BTW, we never did?>Parolee # 40835
You'd crush me in a heartbeat with that Taradactyle wing-span. Leverage will always win in arm wrasslin. You can have my triceps.... but you gotta take the gut that goes with it. :)
Get a Bigfoot. You won't regret it. They just do what they're supposed to do. Don't spring for the magnesium unless there's no chance it won't take a spill though. Magnesium is great in lighter saws. But with a saw with that much mass, it's just too brittle. Trust me. And they don't sell replacement parts very cheap. Next time something breaks on one of mine, I'm going to just order a whole new conversion kit for a few dollars more and have the extra parts and pieces around.View Image
Thanks man.
I just pulld the trigger.
I am out 370$, with shipping, for a 77 body, 15 amps draw @ 25'..give me a breaker, I can pop it.
I have a slew of blades...we'll see.Parolee # 40835
RE blades.... don't forget you need a diamond knock-out blade for that saw.View Image
Ut -ohh.
Really? My 10's are not that way...ut-ohhParolee # 40835
Yeah, it's kind of a bummer. There's only two blades that I know of that fit the 10 1/4" saw..... BigFoot's blade and Freud actually started making a blade specifically for that saw. FWIW, the Freud blade is light-years better than Bigfoot's.

Also,
FWIW, don't be afraid of the conversion kits. There's no difference between them. Same saws at the end of the day. On one, Bigfoot converts it and sells you the saw body. On the other, you do the work, save a few bucks, and find a good use for a saw you currently don't have a use for. Doesn't everyone have a boneyard of circular saws in their basement? ;)View Image
I have a Ridgid worm drive, and stopped at the Bigfoot booth in Providence and asked about converting it. They either said it couldn't be done, or hasn't, I'm not clear what. Didn't sound enthusiastic, though, so I passed it off.
I have a job coming up that's going to require lopping double rim joists off of an existing deck at 45 degrees for a corner stair. Will the BF make the cut in one pass?

So I guess you can only buy the Rigid version as a complete saw huh? That's too bad, but then again I guess it's not a big deal unless you already had a spare one around to convert anyway.
I'm not sure if you could make that cut in one pass Nick. It'd be close though.View Image
Just looked it up..... 10 1/4" blade..... 2 3/4" @ 45 degrees. Just missed.View Image
The alternative is to use the 7 1/4 and finish with a recip. So 2 3/4 looks pretty good from that perspective. Thanks. Perfect excuse to buy another tool.

If that's what you were looking for you came to the right place. I'm always good for that anyway.View Image
