Does anyone know why Yellow Jacket does not sell a 100′ 10 ga. 15 amp cord? They sell a 50′ 10 ga. 15 amp cord and a 100′ 10 ga. 20 amp cord but not the one I’m looking for. An electrical guy tried to explain to me that there was no need for one because of the voltage drop or something like that. Any insight?
Thanks,
Brian

That pretty much says it all. The 10 ga. wire in both the 50' and 100' cords you mentioned is rated for 20 amp.
20>15
Nothing to do with voltage drop. They simply have a 100' cord that will handle a 20 amp load and the lesser 15 amp load. They don't need to make a 10 ga. 100' 15 amp cord, they already have it.

maybe the problem is with the plug config on the 20amp, may have the sideways prong.
if thats the case get a cord cap and run the 20

A fifteen amp plug will fit in a 20 Amp socket/receptacle. The 20A cord is a little more expensive but probably worth the extra few bucks if you intend to keep the cord.
Does anybody know what type of cord a yellow jacket is, i.e. SJEEW, SJOW....?
Could be wrong but if the 20 amp cord has a true 20 amp male plug it will not go into a 15 amp recpt. '.- vs '.' If it is rated at 20 amp I think it supposed to have that config.
You are correct. The 100', 10 ga. Yellow Jacket cord we have in the shop does have a true 20 amp male cord end on it. The female end is dual 15/20 amp. You could plug any 15 or 20 amp power tool into the cord, but the cord itself, could only be plugged into a 20 amp receptical.

Whats wrong with 2 50's? It would allow you to shorten the run of cord when you can which is a good thing in my book.
Looks like this might be what you are looking for.
I found this one at acehardwareoutlet
Found the same thing at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009IAXSW/qid=1116942943/sr=8-11/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i11_xgl60/103-3653490-0688634?v=glance&s=hi&n=507846 and many other sites.
Ace site shows it as Manufacturer model number 2806.
Good luck,
