Hello to all,
Wanted so advice on how to complete the areas under my Gambrel roof/knee wall that are on both sides of my dormer. Right now it is plastered and painted about 53″ wide 43″ deep with a 16″knee wall at which point the roof slopes inward at about 62 degrees. The overal height is 82″ and I’m figuring on having the front of the base cabinets about 3″ deep rather than flush with the dormer side walls.
A woman at the local lumberyard mentioned Yorktown cabinets. Has anyone used/installed them? How are they as far as value? How about Ikea or any other mail order cabinets. We figure we would use two 24″ cooktop base side by side with full extention drawers. We will be using them for close rather than buying two pices of furnitue that will have a buch of dead space above either piece. As for the top, we are thinking about just putting a wall cabinet right on top of the base cabinet, not sure if it would be flush or not. Or we may just opt for open shelves.
Has anyone tried anything like this? Any info would help?
Thanks so much in advance for the help, Turtleboy.
