I have installed a Napoleon gas fireplace that is advertised as “zero clearance”, but the steel frame around the face gets very hot and transfers this heat to the surrounding trim. I would like to trim-it-out in oak plywood but have concerns about the temperatures. Anyone have experience with this sort of installation? What maximum temperature might be considered normal?
