We designed and built our three bedroom retirement dream home on high bank waterfront property on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle Washington. Bluff setback, property line setbacks, and septic locations limited the building site and Community covenences limited the height of the roof. We also wanted to take full advantage of the view to the east, make the home wheelchair friendly (just in case), and make the home as energy efficient as possible.
My wife and I wanted a cozy and welcoming feel to the house and wound up describing the style as “craftsman, aisian, northwest contemorary, lodge”. We wanted to use as many natural products form local sources as possible, with a budget.

Amazing planning. I like the strategic approach for building this beautiful home.
