This client wanted an elaborate cherry fireplace surround and overmantle as the focal point in their great room. They also wanted to watch TV in the room when not entertaining guests. The resulting design met both criteria by incorporating a beveled edge mirror in a frame that rises and disappears to reveal the TV screen behind it. A 40lb steel counterweight and pulley set up makes lifting the 41lb mirror effortless.
