When stripping 2×4 sidewalk forms, most people pull the wooden stakes first, followed by the 2x4s. An easier way to yank this type of form is simply to pry up on one end of the entire assembly. Unless the ground is unusually hard, the stakes come out with the form. It’s then a simple matter of pulling the nails from the stakes, and you’re ready to set up for another pour. This method not only helps save the stakes, but it also saves your back because you’re not constantly bending over to remove the stakes individually.
