Podcast Episode 93 — Tankless Water Heaters and Respect for Building Trades
Rinnai's new products, networking at the show, job prospects for plumbers, and keeping craft alive.
This is the second FHB episode that Rob and Justin are podcasting live from the 2018 Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla. For this show, recorded late on Tuesday, Jan. 9, the guys have two guests: podcast sponsor Frank Windsor, the chief operating officer at gas appliance manufacturer Rinnai, and FHB ambassador and finish carpenter Aaron Butt.
Frank talks about tankless water heater maintenance, advantages of tankless systems, and how to get hot water the instant you turn on the tap. He also has some news about tankless water heaters built into manifold systems and with wifi connectivity. Here are a few of the products featured by Rinnai at the show this year:
Aaron is visiting the Builders’ Show for the first time, and he’s still figuring out the vastness of the event. He’s looking for cabinet hardware, new window tech, and more. The guys commented on how important the show is, not only for products, but for the chance to meet people in the community.

Finally, Rob, Justin, and Aaron talk about the Keep Craft Alive movement, the fundraising event at the show this year, and the chance to buy #KCA tee-shirts to support scholarships for new builders and artisans. That relates to the FHB’s Why I Build video series, so check that out!
