California 2018 FHB House VIP Tour – Sweepstakes Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Entries for the “Escape to the Sierra Nevada and VIP Tour of the Fine Homebuilding House: California 2018” Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”), sponsored by Fine Homebuilding® and Green Building Advisor™ (“Sponsor”), will be accepted from attendees of PCBC (formerly known as the Pacific Coast Builders Conference) or the #KeepCraftAlive Networking & Fundraising Event from 9:30 A.M. on June 27, 2018 through 5:00 P.M. on June 28, 2018 (“Sweepstakes Period”). All entries must be received during the Sweepstakes Period.
ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age at time of entry and who are registered attendees of PCBC or the #KeepCraftAlive Networking & Fundraising Event (“Entrant” or plural, “Entrants”). Employees, officers, and contractors (including immediate family members and members of the same household) of the Sponsor and their respective affiliated companies, subsidiaries, distributors, dealers, retailers, vendors of the Sponsor, and all other entities associated with this promotion, are not eligible.
HOW TO ENTER: Attendees of PCBC or the #KeepCraftAlive Networking & Fundraising Event may enter by visiting the Fine Homebuilding/Green Building Advisor Booth #2560 at PCBC or attending the #KeepCraftAlive Networking & Fundraising Event and providing a complete name, mailing address, daytime phone number, and e-mail address.
LIMIT: One (1) entry is allowed per person. Entries received from any person or email address in excess of the stated limit will be void.
PRIZE / VALUE: One (1) winner will be awarded:
A TRIP TO THE SIERRA NEVADA and
VIP Tour of the Fine Homebuilding House: California 2018
Including up to $500.00 in travel expenses,
2-night accommodations and meal allowance (the “Prize”).
Total Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of Prize is up to $1,000.

The Trip and VIP Tour will be scheduled after completion of the FHB House: California 2018, anticipated in November 2018. The winner will be given at least 30-days’ notice to schedule his/her trip.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: On or about August 1, 2018, one (1) winner will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries received. The winner will be notified by email initially, then by mail within ten (10) days of the selection. Odds of winning will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.
CLAIMING PRIZE: Winner will be sent an “Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release,” which he/she must sign and return within ten (10) days of receipt or the Prize may be forfeited. Winner will also be required to provide proof of age. (Tennessee residents and any other state where prohibited, will not be required to sign a Publicity Release as a condition of winning the Prize.)
NO PRIZE TRANSFER OR SUBSTITUTION: No prize or any portion thereof is transferable or redeemable for cash. Any portion of the Prize that is not used is forfeited. There will be no substitutions for the Prize, except by the Sponsor, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically produced, forged, falsified, altered, or tampered with in any way. Entrants must abide by these Sweepstakes Official Rules and Regulations (“Official Rules”) to be eligible to win. By entering this Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to receive Fine Homebuilding and Green Building Advisor eLetters and special offers, from which you may unsubscribe at any time. Entrants acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to comply with the terms, policies and guidelines described herein. By entering this Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to receive Fine Homebuilding and Green Building Advisor eLetters and special offers.
TAXES: Except where prohibited, payment of any federal, state, local or other taxes, including but not limited to luxury, sales, use, or income tax that may be applicable, is the sole responsibility of the winner.
FORCE MAJEURE: In the event that the Trip and VIP Tour are delayed or canceled by reason of act of God, fire, lockout, strike or other labor dispute, riot or civil disorder, war or armed insurrection, enactment, rule, act or order of government, mechanical failure, or any other force majeure cause or reason demonstrably beyond Sponsor’s control, then Sponsor shall use its best efforts to reschedule the Trip and VIP Tour and will reimburse the winner for any pre-paid expenses up to $500 for travel arrangements that become unusable due to the force majeure delay or cancellation.
JURISDICTION: As a condition of participating in this Sweepstakes, Entrants agree that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action that may arise out of or be connected with this Sweepstakes, or the Prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, through the appropriate jurisdictional state or federal court in the State of Connecticut. Under no circumstances will Entrants be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages including attorney’s fees or any other damages, other than for Entrants’ actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e., costs associated with participating in this Sweepstakes), and Entrants further waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
RELEASES: By participating in this Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to release Sponsor and any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion of the Sweepstakes and each of their officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, damages, injuries or losses, including death, arising in any manner, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Sweepstakes and/or acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize.
