Kevin Ireton graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky and then went to work as a carpenter for 10 years. In 1986, he joined the staff of Fine Homebuilding, and suddenly his odd career choice looked like a well-conceived plan. Eventually, he became the magazine’s chief editor and held the position until he retired from publishing. Kevin lives in western Connecticut and works as a freelance writer and builder.
