Bought a Makita 12″ SCMS (LS1211) at an auction earlier this year, my first 12″ saw. I love it, but there’s a problem. I bought a new blade for it assuming the arbor was 1″, as there was no choice. Pulled the blade to find the saw arbor is 5/8″.
I’ve searched through all the usual places/catalogs, but have found only 12″ blades with 1″ arbor.
Anyone know where a good SCMS 12″ blade could be had with a 5/8″ arbor? As a last resort, I could use an insert, if I had one, but I don’t.
Help. The blade that came with the saw was unmarked, but in excellent condition, but now needs to be resharpened. Tough to use the saw with no blade.
Thanks.

Just found the manual on line, guess there's a ring that came with the saw that I don't have. Somewhere, though, the original owner found a (good) 12" blade that fit without the ring.
Another good reason to buy new.
You might try these guys, they make blades

My old 1211 stopped turning. aluminum table on steel plates, bummer. It's a great saw and I'm thinking I'll fix, otherwise I'd give you the ring. EliphIno!
I just got $200 worth of parts to upgrade the saw, new fence, wear plates, etc. It's a great saw, though heavy. Lady wanted front rails installed and wanted the vinyl coated extruded aluminum. Saw cut right through it, no problem.
Thanks for the offer.
I never met a tool I didn't like!
any good saw sharpening outfit should have 5/8"-1" bushings. If not, try Ballew Saw
