Need recommendations on these liitle guys for a trim project since my 18 gauge brad nailer splits the smaller pieces of 3/4″ oak. I’ve read the 23 gauge pin/brad nailer reviews in FineHomebuilding and several other woodworking magazines. I have it narrowed down to the Grex P635 or Cadex CPB23.35. Both shoot up to a 1 3/8″ fastener and cost about the same. The Cadex can also shoot the slight headed brads, but don’t know if this is good enough reason to pick one over the other. Anyone have experience with either of these nailers or recommendations on which would be the better choice. Both Grex and Cadex seem to be high quality products from all the tool reviews.

I bought the Cadex, partly because it does shoot the slight headed brads. They seem to hold better, and the size of the hole is barely bigger.
I bought mine thru Floyd Tools. They were very nice to deal with.

Cadex, yes. The brads are worth it. That alone should sway you, but consider that's it's not a garish color and doesn't have a name that sounds like something you'd eat. Need I go on?
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
Cadex here, too. Good folks at Floyd Tools.

I also have the Cadex. Much better than the cheaper one I bought.
Grex for me.

I've got a 2 year Grex and an 8 year old Senco, I like them both.

U knew I'd be here shorty and mention Max.
for what it's worth to the original poster ... once U hit this price range we're all talking ... don't think you'll find a bad choice in the bunch.

The Grex looks identical to the Cadex.
I have the Cadex CPB23.35 and am very happy with its performance. Other 23ga pinners I have used occasionally leave the pins proud, this has not happened yet with my Cadex.
The only downside of the Cadex is all of the sharp edges on it. When using it in tight spaces I need to be careful with the allen screws on top, the belt hook on the left and the air blower (which is really handy). Any one of them can leave marks on finished work.
The case is kinda sucky, the gun flops around in it. There is no place to securely store pins or accessories in the 50% of open space so I keep the pins and exta allen keys, in my glove box of my truck.
My Porter Cable PIN 100 is a nice little pinner, very small, no sharp edges, but there is no way to put a rubber tip on the business end so it can leave tiny marks around the pin holes. I don't think they make it anymore although the Rigid 23ga looks alot like it.

Cadex from Floyd here. I love it. I also like the air blower. I was going to go with the one that shoots the 2-1/2"? pins. But when do you ever need to shoot pins that long? I figured I would use 15ga for that. I have had mine for a lil under a year, I can't say I have ever had a misfire.

My Omer has driven tens of thousands of pins over the last several years with only one driver replacement......Omer makes nail guns for Duo Fast, so you know it is well made....No plastic parts....good luck and I know you will enjoy having this wonderful tool....
I love my Grex 650L, you almost just add water to the wood and have the grains swell closed around the nail hole!. Then again, I haven't seen the Cadex in person.
