Good day FHB readers.
I’m in the process of pricing to redo my roof and was wandering what others would do in this situation. My home has a 3/12 pitch, and I’m thinking it would be in my best interest to ice and water the entire roof. Does anyone think this is overkill(Idont).I’m planning on using Chateau shingles, I dont think metal is asthetically pleasing as with roll roofing.

Hi jamar hammer,
If it's in a high weather area, mainly snow and it's in you budget I would 100%.

Hey Howie, thanks for your opinion, I'm in southern Ontario with all kinds of crazy weather. Thanks again
Personally, I get nervous with fiberglass/asphalt shingles installed on any thing lower than a 4 in 12 roof at a standard exposure. I would certainly install ice&water shield on the whole thing and consider reducing the exposure as well if fiberglass/asphalt shingles were the only option.View Image
