Hi all,
Quick plumbing question here…..
I installed a 3/4″ watts water reducing valve at the water inlet to my house. The whole house has been plumbed with 3/4″ copper with short branches done in 1/2″. My problem is that there seems to be not really enough flow anywhere in the house (which is not completely done but the water system is up and running). I get great pressure (I can set up to 75 psi) and that doesn’t seem to be the problem. But when I am running my outside hoses or the utility sink in the basement, there just doesn’t seem to be enough water coming out.
Is my regulator too small? Is a 3/4″ watts typical install for new construction? (I got it at Lowes but have access to any other regulator that would do me better). Can I install a 1″ or will the valve in the regulator chatter? Is there a high flow version of a 3/4″? Am I barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks for any help guys,
Rob Kress

I assume you mean pressure reducer.... to bring the town water main pressure down to the +/- 80 PSI you want in your house lines?
What does the pressure read when you have water flowing?
A Zane Gray novel?
sorry..couldn't help it.

Who the hell is Zane Gray?
No, for the other guys, I have not read a pressure guage while running water but I bet that would be telling. And yes, I am talking about my pressure reducing valve on the inlet water supply to my house from the city source.
Thanks for inquiring further,

Is the arrow on the regulator pointing in the right direction?
It won't work any othe way, so of course.
